MILPITAS, CA, July 15, 2022 — ProphetStor Data Services, Inc. today announced that Chunghwa Telcom (CHT), the largest telecoms company in Taiwan, has adopted ProphetStor Federator.ai in reducing idle resources in VM clusters and achieving both cost savings and Green IT objectives. Federator.ai is an IT Operations (AIOps) platform that understands the operation metadata and metrics, performs workload dynamics predictions, and recommends the Just-in-Time Fitted resources for applications. Furthermore, it provides intelligence for orchestrating Kubernetes container resources on virtual machines (VM) or bare metal.
Chunghwa Telecom deploys many VMs in its data centers for various mission-critical applications. Keeping the resilient operation of the VMs while identifying opportunities to reduce wasteful resources is one of the critical operational challenges. Rightsizing the VM resources not only provides a roadmap for cost savings but also contributes to the sustainability goal of the infrastructure. Traditional VM monitoring tools only provide passive resource usage without proactive recommendations based on the predictions of application workloads and multi-layer designs. Federator.ai uses ML-based technology for dynamic workload predictions that accurately forecast resource usage. It is continuously right-sizing the VM resources. The multi-layer operation models can be used in short-term adjustments or long-term planning.
“Using Federator.ai’s ML-based resource recommendation engine allows us to provision our VM resources for operation resilience more accurately,” said Mr. Chung-Shuo Lin, Managing Director of Chunghwa Telecom Cloud System Department. “The benefits of reducing operational costs while making progress toward a low-carbon IT infrastructure at the same time is one of the reasons we adopt Federator.ai. We are also deploying Fedearator.ai to help our MSP business in helping our end users save their cloud spend and deliver our value-added services with automation and optimization for customers’ cloud operations.”
“With our patented prediction and recommendation engine, Federator.ai fully lets our customers view resource usage for different cloud deployments. From VMware VM clusters, AWS EC2 clusters, to Kubernetes clusters, customers can now have a clear picture of how resources are needed for the next few hours to the next few months, making it easy to execute quick resource adjustments or perform a long-term resource planning,” said Ming Sheu, EVP of Products of ProphetStor. “It is complementary to the existing data center/cloud managing tools and helps the customers’ operation team make intelligent actions that keep applications running smoothly and continuously.”
ProphetStor’s patented deep Learning-enabled DataProphet Cloud Operation Recommendation Engine forms the foundation for its Federator.ai. ProphetStor’s Federator.ai 5.1 is a generally available product from ProphetStor. For a detailed description of the solution, please visit https://www.prophetstor.com.
